Barry Island...

When we arrived in Cardiff, after settling in to our hotel, we went for a drive to the seaside area of Barry Island...why there? Well it might seem that DH and I watch a lot of TV as not only did we visit the village where Doc Martin is filmed but we also 'made a pilgrimage' to Barry Island because one of DH's favourite shows is 'Gavin and Stacey' and one of its locations is Barry Island.
It was a very cold afternoon...but we had a good walk around. I love British seaside towns...

There was evidence that the town was 'trading' on the success of the TV show...

Some of the properties are a bit rundown on the upper levels...

The fun fair at Barry Island...

Another business taking advantage ofvthevshow's popularity...with Ness (Ruth Jones) inviting punters to part with cash! Lol

Looking up to the headland...

The rather large and grand Pavillion...

Oh look! A photo opportunity! :-)

But look at DH in this next photo! Looks like he's ready to join the cast in the next series...lol.

So the next time DH watches an episode of the show, he will be able to say...' I know that spot where they are!'

You're certainly having fun! I love those glimpses of the first
floor windows of the old buildings, imagine living there, looking right onto the street or up on that headland looking out to sea.

lol, what a lot of fun you both had! Good on you :D)
Love those cottages out on the headland, they'd have great views.
